A few notes and disclaimers about the contents of this site.
Photographs
All photographs on this site are my own unless stated otherwise. If you would like to use any elsewhere please contact me for permission.
The photos of the walks are not strictly chronological. I often take them while walking in both directions, and may combine ones taken on different days, or go back to take more if I’m unhappy with any. However, they are always taken within the same season to be representative of what can be seen along the route at the time it is described.
To avoid annoying anyone I avoid featuring any of the following:
- People. People wander into shot all the time and appear incidentally in many of the photos, but I don’t use any where it looks as though I could have included someone deliberately.
- Individual homes. I’m not looking to highlight anyone’s attractive garden or hideous extension. The streetscapes and examples of house types are meant to illustrate the character of areas generally.
- Playgrounds – unless deserted, which is rare even during lockdown in the depths of winter.
- Schools during term-time weekdays.
- Any incidents involving emergency services.
Pretty much anything else I see on my walks that I like the look of or grabs my attention gets included!
History
This website is not a historical information source. The notes here are just my own observations and recollections. Please contact me if you find any factual inaccuracies, and let me know the source of the correct information.
If you want to know about local history I suggest contacting the Mill Road History Society, or searching for the writings of Allan Brigham, a respected local historian who sadly passed away in 2020. There’s less information online specifically about the history of the Coleridge area as it is newer.
