I’ve created a photographic record of the Cows About Cambridge Large Cows Trail and added it to the Walks page. This is the first of two sponsored walks that I’ve completed to raise money for the charity Break. Details of that can be found on my Just Giving page. I’ve also walked and photographed theContinue reading “Cows About Cambridge – Large Cows Trail”

Elizabeth Way Murals Update
The murals in the Elizabeth Way Roundabout underpasses have had most of their graffiti removed, so I’ve re-photographed them and updated the slides and panoramas. There are still some coloured marks, but all scribbled ‘tags’ have gone apart from the faint ones on the ship in the first Stourbridge Fair mural and the light bulbContinue reading “Elizabeth Way Murals Update”
Cows About Cambridge Sponsored Walk
In the week starting 9th August I’m planning to walk both the Cows About Cambridge sculpture trails to fundraise for Break. I’ll photograph all the cows on both trails in their settings, and include them here in the style of the existing Walks pages. If you’d like to pledge to sponsor me please contact me.Continue reading “Cows About Cambridge Sponsored Walk”
Elizabeth Way Roundabout
Here’s something slightly different – a rather short walk around the Elizabeth Way Roundabout. I’ve wanted to photograph the murals here ever since they appeared a little over twenty years ago, and finally got round to it this week. Constructing the panoramas proved an interesting challenge, and I’d love to know more about them.
Website Tweaks
I’ve made a few small alterations to the website in preparation for publicising it. The Walks page now lists the walks in chronological order rather than grouping them by direction from Home. The menu has been re-ordered with the more important pages first. There’s now a Search page for searching the website. The Links pageContinue reading “Website Tweaks”
Grafton Centre and Kite Area
I’ve added a walk around the Grafton Centre and surrounding streets. This is topical at the moment, as last month it was announced that the Grafton Centre has been put up for sale and could be repurposed or redeveloped.
Mill Road Revisited
On the way to photograph another walk, not yet written up, I walked along Mill Road with the wide-angle lens and got better views of Parkside Pool and three churches. I’ve added those to the Mill Road page, along with one of the skateboard park.
Improved Links page
I’ve improved the Links page to add screenshots of the websites and links to versions archived on the Internet Archive Way Back Machine. I’ve also added a couple more links to sites that I’d referenced within the text of the Mill Road walk.
Undeveloped Chalk Pits
I present my entry for the Least Photogenic Lockdown Walk Award 2021: the Undeveloped Chalk Pits. They are currently topical as the full planning application to develop them for warehousing and an urban country park has recently been submitted. But surprisingly little of them can be seen from the footpaths around them.
Site Now Live
Now I’ve written about three walks it’s time to make the site live. More will follow later.
